Meet Bethany
I am a designer driven by the belief that clarity beats innovation every time. With a BFA in Graphic Design and a decade of experience as a business owner and photographer, I specialize in transforming complex "noise" into intuitive, high-value experiences. Whether I was architecting signage for 1+ million attendees at the Iowa State Fair or refining photography workflows to reduce client decision fatigue, my goal has always been the same: to protect the user’s attention and make information easier to grasp at a glance. I bridge the gap between rigorous visual hierarchy and empathetic service design, ensuring that every asset—from a digital interface to a wedding gallery—serves a distinct, functional purpose.

Fast Facts
The Curation Mindset: I apply the same "less is more" philosophy to my life as I do to design. I’ve transitioned my wardrobe into a curated, high-impact collection of pieces that work with my natural structure—because impactful design should be effortless to navigate.
System Architect (Personal Edition): I recently audited a decade’s worth of personal mobile and camera photos, migrating thousands of scattered assets into a unified, searchable DropBox directory. I live for the "click" of a perfectly organized system.
State Fair Insider: My 2014 internship taught me that the Butter Cow is carved from recycled butter that—honestly—smells terrible. I've been in the ring with the Big Boar, but I prefer the "User Experience" of the food stands and animal barns.
The "Why" Behind My UX: Nothing drives me crazier than hidden friction. My recent battle with a non-intuitive car registration portal—which "tricked" me into missing the "Add to Cart" step—is exactly why I design for clarity first. If a user has to guess, the design isn't finished.
Creative Fuel: You can usually find me with a vanilla latte in hand, lifting weights for a healthy future, or reading to my kids after a long walk around the lake.
